24 Jul Buenos Aires Bound!
Hi there…hello…sorry I’ve been MIA! Life just got in the way and I’ve been super busy with work so I didn’t have a chance to update here. But now I’m back💪
Last week took me for 48 hours to Buenos Aires. To summarize Buenos the meat is out of this world, drink some Malbec, I regret not speaking Spanish and the town is not a shopping Mecca or the cutest streets but that’s compensated by the fact that there are little restaurants and bars everywhere where you just want to sit down and chill for days!
I stayed in the area of Palermo which is pretty much the place to be. I found a super nice boutique hotel called Palo Santos . Can highly recommend the hotel, cute, clean and access to free bikes if you want to bike around. Although Uber is a strong recommendation and works perfectly. What shocked me a bit this time around is how hard the economic climate has hit Buenos Aires, everything is literally dirt cheap.
So without much ado, what I want to do in Buenos Aires is eat their amazing meat and down some Malbec which is exactly what I did:-). I can recommend Lo De Jesus which is an old butchers store or La Cabrera which is just next door. At Cabrera you can arrive early around 18.30 and you can skip the reservation which they don’t take until 20.00 so it’s a good place to kick the jet lag!
End of the trip started out amazing with the new KLM Dreamliner back to Amsterdam however it ended in disaster when the whole business class filled up with small children who graciously decided to cry the whole way back to Amsterdam🤷♀️, despite that though I absolutely love Buenos and can wait to go back and also explore the whole country including Patagonia!! I leave you with a meat picture from La Cabrera worth more than a thousand words
