19 Jun Restaurant Da Vinci in Maasbracht is worth the detour!
This weekend I packed my bags to take a little mini break to Maastricht, but before hitting Maastricht we stopped for a relaxed lunch in the small town of Maasbracht which has housed Margo Breutens two Michelin star restaurant Da Vinci for 23 years!
I started up the meal with below starter which our waiter explained contains everything good in the world, which is absolutely right! Imagine a beautiful mix of fois gras, truffles and lobster all in a beautiful soft blend of subtle slices. After this I opted for the cod with mussels and my love the steak, but let’s be honest I think you can have anything on the menu and it will taste magical. The amuses were already above par so this rightfully set the tone for an absolutely fabulous experience!
Although the restaurant boasts a very modern interior the menu is traditional French. You can opt either for the degustation menu or a la carte, of course the sommelier is at your service to pair your choice with the best wines. Given we are in a bit of a culinary Mecca of Holland I would recommend trying some of the local wines!
